Further information on the role of Chair of the Community Partnership (CP)

This is your chance to be part of the conversation about the biggest environmental protection project of our lifetime.

Members are looking to recruit a suitable candidate to take on this challenging but rewarding role. They are committed to recruiting the right candidate to lead their Partnership, and have expressed a preference to recruit a Chair who lives or works in the Search Area.

Role summary

  • The purpose of the Chair is to ensure that Community Partnership meetings and discussions run appropriately, and the work of the Partnership is fair, unbiased and reflects the needs of the community.
  • The Chair will be accountable to the Community Partnership in ensuring that they conduct their activities in line with their Terms of Reference, as set out in the Community Partnership Agreement (CPA).
  • The Chair must act independently and not represent either themselves or any organisation of which they are a member. This is to ensure the work of the Partnership is fair and unbiased.

To support the role, an honorarium payment of £10,000 per annum is offered.
