In this edition the Partnership visit the British Geological Survey (BGS) to understand more about the geology of the area and why it is important. An article explains the type of rocks deep underground in this area, and how their key features make it potentially suitable for hosting a GDF.
The issue of power needed for a Geological Disposal Facility (GDF) is raised and discussed. We also provide information to help answer the simple questions everyone living in the Search Area should have answers to. What is a GDF? Why is it needed? Is it safe?
We include an update on Community Investment Funding, with the news that another £1 million has been awarded to local projects. Plus how one group has been supported and benefited from their grant funding.
