Following this recent news from NWS the Partnership have issued this response from independent chair David Fannin.
“The GDF Community Partnership is aware through local knowledge and conversations with NWS that a few developers are interested in the former Theddlethorpe Gas Terminal.
“Whilst NWS as the GDF developer is considering other options for the surface site for the potential underground disposal facility, we understand this will not change the currently defined search area.
“The role of the Community Partnership, which includes representatives of local government, community, and business, is to advocate for and be the ‘bridge’ between the local community and the developer. Our purpose does not change.
“Our focus over the next nine months will be to invite developer and independent subject specialists to join us for deeper examination of a range of topics including safety and security, benefits, dis benefits, and risks and the GDF programme of works. We aim to inform and involve local people, so they have the information they need to make an informed choice when the time comes.”
