Children’s Links were awarded £56,628 towards their 3 year project “Woman to Woman”.
The project aims to provide a safe space for women in the Search Area Communities to meet, make friendships, develop confidence and learn new skills in the local community.
The Project aims to
• Increase self-esteem
• Increase confidence
• Help to develop social skills
• Help people to feel valued
• Support positivity about the future
• Support people to access more services
• Empower members to make new choices
• Develop new skills
Sessions will explore activities that promote creativity and develop social skills. The Project aims to create long-term benefits by helping people to gain new skills, knowledge and confidence so that more groups can be established in the future by volunteers, lead by the community.
To achieve this, Children’s Links will develop ‘Mentors’ during the project, who in turn can help with future delivery of other Woman to Woman groups.
