Citizens Advice Lincoln and Lindsey were awarded £308,705 to deliver a suite of advice to residents in the wards of Withern, Theddlethorpe and Mablethorpe.
Funding from the Theddlethorpe Community Partnership will enable Citizens Advice Lincoln and Lindsey to provide free, independent, impartial and confidential advice and information services five days a week. The areas of advice include welfare benefits, Universal Credit and tax credits, debt, housing and homelessness, employment, relationships, health care, education, legal and consumer issues. There will also be a focus on helping people with advice around their day to day living costs to help them tackle the cost of living challenges.
Funding will also pay for complex welfare benefits casework to assist clients to maximise their income by claiming full entitlement to welfare benefits including Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance, Personal Independence Payment, Carers Allowance, Pension Credit, Employment Support Allowance and Universal Credit.
By providing a holistic advice service the organisation aims to empower and educate clients so they are better able to deal with similar issues in the future.
The service will be available Monday through to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
