Furnichurch was awarded £118,028 to enable the Charity to continue its aim of relief from poverty for people in and around Mablethorpe by providing food and furniture.
Funding will enable the purchase of 40,000 meals for residents over three years, together with hygiene packs and baby food. The Project will also enable Furnichurch to employ a member of staff to coordinate operations.
Furnichurch has been a pillar of support for the local community for the last 20 years providing second-hand furniture and food to individuals and families on low incomes or receiving benefits.
Providing low-cost or free furniture for people in Mablethorpe and the surrounding area helps people avoid debt, thereby increasing their economic resilience by reducing their outgoings. Furnichurch’s services also includes referrals to other agencies that can assist families and individuals to get further support.
At a time of surging costs and a reduction in donations associated with the cost of living crisis, this project provides a lifeline for the Charity and the people who benefit from the vital service it provides.
