Lincoln and Lindsey Blind Society (LLBS) were awarded £99,981 for their benefit advice project for the visually impaired.
The project will ensure that service users and their families get the tailored advice and help they need. This will cover financial matters, and in addition will also provide a broad range of help.
This help includes a befriending service, talking newspapers, specialist equipment, technology, and advice and help with the landline telephone digital changeover. This is a big issue for people who often are unable to use or do not want internet access in their homes. This lack of digital access results in a reduced awareness of benefit entitlements and money management.
